A friend experienced with Unity invited me and another friend with visual design skills to a 48-hour game jam hosted by Gaza Sky Geeks. The theme was “grow it, let go,” and together we made Let it Glow.

I focused on game design, mechanics and levels. My teammates handled Unity development and visual design. It gave me a way to contribute my interest in games while working alongside people with different strengths.

A puzzle built around one changing ability.

Let it Glow is a 2D puzzle platformer. Its central ability behaves differently depending on what it interacts with; players discover those variations to get through the levels.

These screenshots show the finished team game. My contribution was mechanics and level design, while my teammates handled Unity development and visual design.

Two awards for a shared effort.

Let it Glow received the Judges’ Choice Award and the Most Innovative & Creative Game award. Both recognized the game we made together.

I spend a lot of time playing games; this time I got to help shape one. Designing mechanics and levels made that interest practical, and game design remains something I want to explore alongside engineering.
